Apple is gaining share in the European smartphone market

Apple is one of the only manufacturers to grab market share on European soil.

Times may be tough for smartphone makers, but not for Apple. All manufacturers are severely affected by the shortage of components and the war in Ukraine, including Apple, but the latter is in much better financial health than its competitors, especially in Europe.

According to a study by Canalys, all smartphone manufacturers are showing a drop in their market share on European soil, except for realme and Apple. These first see their market share increase from 2% to 5% from the first quarter of 2021 to the same period a year later. For its part, Apple goes from 19% to 21% and returns to second position, ahead of Xiaomi.

Samsung remains the leader in the ranking, with 35%, while Xiaomi drops from 23% to 20%. Oppo remains the fifth largest manufacturer, with 4%. However, it is on the sales side that the figures are the most impressive. Apple recorded a 1% increase (8.8 million to 8.9 million), while realme saw its sales increase… 177%!
