In The crimes of the future, in theaters this Wednesday, May 25, 2022, David Cronenberg is once again tackling the world of science fiction. To embody his new thriller, the Canadian director has set his sights on the excellent Viggo Mortensen, interpreter of Saul Tenser, an artist staging the mutation of his organs in the synthetic environment in which the population evolves. He is assisted by Caprice, played by the French Léa Seydoux, in her experiments supervised by Timlin, alias Kristen Stewart, investigator of the Office of the National Registry of Organs. Their hitherto peaceful daily life will be turned upside down by mysterious elements. A horror thriller in official competition at the Cannes Film Festival that everyone came to defend this Monday, May 23.
Kristen Stewart, Léa Seydoux and Viggo Mortensen have stood up alongside David Cronenberg to honor the director and represent the feature film which will perhaps give a new boost to the fine career that they have all been pursuing with passion and energy since their beginnings in the 7th art. The two actresses, very accomplices before the rise of the steps, lit up the red carpet. Léa Seydoux wore a long black dress, slightly transparent and decorated with pearls. The actress of Twilight had opted for a colorful and shiny crop top and a long puffy white skirt. But they weren’t the only ones to give their all for the event. The chic and classy looks were out, Cannes oblige.
Father-daughter moment for Ana Girardot
Hippolyte Girardot passed a head on the red carpet, his daughter Ana Girardot not far from him. Agnès Jaoui was also present in the image of Vincent Cassel. Filmmaker Santiago Amigorena, former companion of Julie Gayet, walked the red carpet on the arm of his wife, screenwriter Marion Quantin. If they were all very elegant, as much to say that they were not really the weight in front of the dazzling Sharon Stone. The 64-year-old actress once again caused a stir in a long green dress with a split on one side, revealing dream legs, to die for!
After the mythical climb up the stairs, the whole team took their place in the large light theatre, to a horde of applause from the spectators. An exercise to which the director begins to be accustomed, less his actor. However, this is not the first time that David Cronenberg and Viggo Mortensen have collaborated together. In 2005, the actor landed a role in A History of Violence then in Shadow Promises two years later. For Kristen Stewart and Léa Seydoux, on the other hand, it was a great first. It remains to be seen whether the companion of André Meyer will be as lucky as his sidekick Vincent Cassel, having been asked twice by the filmmaker to Shadow Promises and A Dangerous Method…
