The Montreal pizzeria Alto Restaurant ranks in the top 5 Canada established by the vote of customers during Pizza Week, which took place from May 1 to 14 in 400 establishments across the country.

The festival, created last year by Na’eem Adam and Thierry Rassam – the organizers of Burger Week and Poutine Week – aims to help the restaurant industry. Participants are attached to an event that makes noise, they benefit from the marketing and publicity carried out around the Week and sales are boosted through a national platform. They were invited this year to charge an extra $1 per pizza to donate the money to United Way, an organization that wants to create a better life for everyone by focusing on children, poverty and the community.

Alto Restaurant in Montreal is in the Top 5 Canada, with its Alt-O-Max pizza made with ground beef, onions, pickles, Alto cheese blend, shredded lettuce and Alto MAX sauce. The jury also rewarded the restaurant Brama and its pizza Mortadolce, as well as Quebec with Pizza Verace – Le District Gourmet Sainte-Foy and its Margherita di Bufala. Alto Restaurant and Pizza Verace – Le District Gourmet Sainte-Foy also won the Saputo award, as did Sham Vegan in Montreal with its vegan pizza. As for the DoorDash prize, it is given to Jumelles Pizza in Quebec for its 14 “Halal Garnie.

Pizza Week also lists Montreal’s favorite pizzas: after Alto Restaurant are BLVD Bar and La Saint-Viateur, Restaurant La Toile and La Crémeuse, Pizzeria Pete’s and La Special Pete’s, Manzo Pizzeria and La Spéciale du Chef. In Quebec, we find Pizza Verace – Le District Gourmet Sainte-Foy, then Pizzeria Capriccio with the Pizza paysanne, Le Quartier Général with the 3 little pigs pizza, Le Batifol Bar & Grill with the Smoked chicken and blue cheese pizza, Pizzeria NO.900 with Margherita Re Umberto.
