Plans: Apple cars leave to visit France

With the return of sunny days, Apple is bringing out its mapping cars and the summer schedule is busy.

The list that Apple provided to Numerama includes 31 cities in France where the vehicles will resume their tracking. They will start with Nice at the very beginning of June and, passing through Corsica, Toulon, Lyon, Nancy, Orléans and others, will end in Grenoble, Strasbourg, Rennes or Caen in the middle of August.

In recent weeks, the only collection activity was on foot in a few specific places in Paris and Versailles, but the cars were not turning. This umpteenth visit to the cities is perhaps the prelude to the upcoming arrival of new cards, as we started to see bits of it this weekend. France also lacks the Look Around function, copied from Google’s Street View, and for which car cameras will probably also work.
