The Apple Watch gets “Pride Edition” straps

To celebrate Pride Month, Apple unveiled new straps to equip its connected watches. These accessories, accompanied by dynamic dials Pride Edition, combine several colors reflecting the group support for the LGBTQ+ movement and equality. The different shades also pay tribute to people living with or who have died from HIV/AIDS.

Apple will soon launch a new Pride campaign on Instagram: Shot on iPhone. This will highlight renowned artists and important personalities within the LGBTQ+ community. Various events will be organized in emblematic places. For the occasion, the Apple will present the work of several photographers and artists, among others, Ryan McGinley, Evan Benally Atwood, Meinke Klein, Caia Ramalho, Lydia Metral, Collier Schorr, Jin Lee Baobei.

As if that weren’t enough, the manufacturer has just announced two new “Pride Edition” straps. These are accessories designed for the Apple Watch. Featuring an original gradient of colors, these are made of nylon and worked in a new weaving process to offer more comfort. They have a Velcro flap system that easily adjusts to the wrist.

The Pride Edition Sport Loop model

The bracelet Pride Edition Sport Loop is made of nylon adorned with the shade of the iconic rainbow colors. This set of colors represents the different pride flags with the presence, in particular, of light blue, pink, white, black and brown. The first 3 colors symbolize support for transgender and non-binary individuals. As for the last 2, they represent the black and Latin community. The weaving technique used creates a two-tone effect revealing, in a cursive effect, the word ” pride on the outer part. The style reveals a three-dimensional effect inspired by the greeting ” Hello which appeared on the first Macintosh in 1984.

Nike Sport Loop Pride Edition

The version Nike Sport Loop Pride Edition highlights the colors of the rainbow placed between black stripes. Its original design has been thought out to adapt to the dial Nike Bounce. Lightweight, breathable and soft to the touch, the bracelet has a firmly attached scratch system to ensure resistance to any test.

This accessory for the Apple Watch remains faithful to the image of the collection BeTrue of Nike. The initiative aims to promote equality in sport as well as acceptance, activism, inspiration and education of the LGBTQ+ community.

Both products are already available on Apple’s online store at a price of $49. They are compatible with all the firm’s smartwatch models.
